Meet the Team

Emily

Founder and Lead Trainer

Hi! Iā€™m Emily, owner of Lunar Legacy Dog Training. I live in Elizabethtown, PA with my husband and our 3 dogs, Luna, Djoli and Mothman.

My dog training journey started out how I imagine a lot of you reading this may be starting your own training journey-I brought home a dog, and I needed to learn how to give her guidance and effectively communicate with her.

Training with my dog, Luna, and building a strong bond with her ignited my passion for dog training. I got a taste of it, and I was hooked. Before I knew it I was absorbing as much knowledge as I could from books, online courses, seminars, and videos.

From there, I started training more dogs and expanding my skill set. I worked with foster dogs from a rescue, and then started raising service dogs for a service dog organization.

I spent a few years working in veterinary medicine and seeing owners walk through the door with a gamut of behavioral struggles who wanted to know where and how they could get help.

Finally, after wanting to transition to a career in dog training for a long time, I made the decision to take the leap. I wanted to be the where and the how for those owners (like you!) to find the help they needed. So in 2021, I founded Lunar Legacy Dog and started training dogs professionally full time!

I am a graduate of the renowned Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers, where I completed courses in management, motivation, basic and advanced obedience skills, puppy development, behavior modification, proper use of the e-collar, protection theory, detection, and training sport exercises.

It is a joy to help owners and their dogs succeed, and I would love to connect with you and be a part of your training journey!

Luna

Co-founder and Director of Treat Distribution, CGC

The dog that started it all! 11 years ago, Luna inspired the journey that led to Lunar Legacy Dog Training. She is the glue that holds it all together!

Djoli

Head Scaredy Cat

After being released from a service dog program for being a bit of an anxious gal, Djoli (Jo-lee) now happily lives the pet dog life and enjoys providing her services as a neutral, polite pup for dogs that are learning to navigate behavior around other dogs.

Lead Troublemaker and Play Facilitator

Mothman

Mothman is the kind of guy who loves to have fun! Some of his favorites include swimming, bitework, detection, and playing ball with anyone who will throw it for him.
